Rob has been a lifelong resident of Michigan, attending Brother Rice High School, then Grand Valley State for two years and finally completing his B.S. at University of Detroit. He then went to complete his Master’s degree at Walsh College in Finance. Growing up in Troy with his father, a tax attorney, and his mother a bookkeeper, Rob was introduced to the finance industry at an early age. Rob currently lives in Plymouth with his wife Andrea and 2 children, Rory and Marissa.
Rob has spent his professional career caring for people and their money. After receiving his Master’s Degree, he started his professional finance journey in the mortgage industry. He became a mortgage loan officer and ultimately owned and operated a mortgage brokerage. After 20 years, he left the mortgage industry and started his life as a financial planner, in 2007. In 2011, shortly after his wife Andrea was diagnosed with MS, he temporarily left the planning side and took a position as a consumer loan underwriter first with TD Bank, then with Wells Fargo Bank, and a short time in real estate management. Rob is always learning and asking questions about business activities and goals. In his first pursuit of knowledge and the desire to help friends and family, Rob has followed his calling and returned to financial planning here at Securian Financial Advisors of the Great Lakes.
Rob holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations, as well as Annuity, Life, Health and Disability Insurance Licenses. He is a registered representative and investment advisor representative of Securian Financial Services, Inc. and is licensed in Michigan.
